A Stolen Life - JLD

Today during lunch I finally finished reading "A Stolen Life" By Jaycee Lee Dugard....  The book is probably one of the hardest I've ever read....and I've read many...but knowing it was all true...ugh.  As a parent it is your worst nightmare to have a child kidnapped - and fear dead....Her mother never gave up hope that she would be found....I can't even imagine how agonizing those 18 years had to be.

I would encourage anyone, everyone to read this book.  She deserves our support and our understanding of what happened.  So many people wanted to know...well this is how you can find out.  I know that it can't be changed but I hope that Jaycee finds peace in her life, and love - a real, true, undefinable love - a man that truly cares for her and shows her what true love is about.

I won't tell much of the book because I truly believe you have to read it for yourself.

All that being said - please buy a copy of this book and visit the website

The Binder

Okay as promised, here is my "binder" I've taken a few pic's of the inside as well.  I'm still finishing up organizing it, and the very last picture is of my most recent buy - literally the savings is insane...

Okay so the Tide, Febreze and Bounce - all purchased for five bucks...all three :) Total savings thirteen dollars! Febreze was free (3.00)  Four dollars off the Bounce (normally 4.97) and four dollars off the Tide (normally 8.00)!!!!!

Savings 101 - Woot...

I now have a coupon BINDER - its that bad guys...I've come to the point of needing a binder...I've given my itty bitty coupon holder off to my mom...I think it was honestly supposed to hold recipes...and I just made it what I wanted. The only problem I forsee with my "binder" is it might not be big enough...twisted huh? I think I need more spaces and holders. I'll get a picture of the binder uploaded asap.  I have some shopping I'm going to do this weekend, although I did manage to score a Febreze Noticeables warmer - I'm going to go back and get the other one asap. I have to hit up Target this weekend for the others - or I might take the girls tonight for some "scores".  I've constantly said that sometimes you have to spend a little to get stuff you want - its amazing how many places actually allow you to "double" up coupons and if you WATCH the sales, you can score some great deals. I'm not a hoarder and refuse to go nuts overstocking my home with crap I don't use and probably never will - however, when it comes to cleaning supplies and aroma therapy I"M ALL FOR IT!  I'll get that pic uploaded soon, I've got to actually work on it today during my lunch hour...

A book worth reading...

I just recently finished a book called "Heaven is For Real" it was a short read for me (150+) pages. I'm a firm believer that life is bigger than "Just us" and this book was a great insight to that.  Its about a little boy who falls ill, ends up having surgery and then afterwards tells his family about his "journey" into the unknown (Heaven) how he met Jesus and God - saw people that there was NO way he could've met.  Its a GREAT book - and I HIGHLY encourage you to pick it up!  I know Grassroots Books on Grove has several copies - again great book!!!

Also - as of yesterday I picked up "A Stolen Life" its about Jaycee Lee Dugard - being from Northern Nevada this book hits home for a lot of us.  I've only just begun the book but I couldn't set it down - had to force myself actually.  Great book thus far, I'll post a review after I'm finished!!!

How I began...

Okay -so a quick introduction about my savings and why I'm writing this blog... I used to just go to the store and buy items, then complain about how much we'd spent - which I think we all do - and even more so now thanks to the recession.  Which is when I noticed on Sunday's we'd get the "free" paper with coupons etc - it also contained recipes - of which is now another passion of mine - my recipe binder is ridiculously full of recipes we try out found from the paper.  Anyways - I started looking at the coupons, and then I'd just clip ANYTHING I thought we might ever use - I have a small coupon holder that has now become absurdly stuffed and I am now upgrading to my binder.  I often go to the store and my husband would complain "ugh really - why do you use ONE or TWO coupons..." then I showed him how I don't just use ONE or TWO I check out the prices, the sales the deals etc - I write it all down and THEN I go home reorganize my coupons with my little list, and voila....I started saving anywhere from 10-60 PERCENT off our bill.  He was impressed to say the least - then I started going to the websites of our favorite products - you can request coupons etc even get free samples.  I am making this blog because as I receive the "items" I am going to blog about them...fill free to make comments ask questions etc.  I'd love feedback from everyone!!

Thanks!
